Springtime Savings — Part II

Last week shared with you some ways to save money as your clean for Spring. Making home improvements and/or maintaining your home is also important.

We find often as families prepare their home for the market, they are overwhelmed due to the day-to-day maintenance not addressed while occupying the property. I don’t place judgement because I get it — when living day-to-day life, we are busy and these small items go unnoticed and then next thing we know, they are big projects!

Spring is a good time to inspect your home for cracked or chipped paint. Scrape out those areas and repaint. Also check the caulk around your tubs, windows, exterior doorways. It is important to scrape and reseal those areas to prevent deterioration of wood and inside walls. You can also save lots of $$ by washing and sealing the wood fences and decks. By maintaining, you help minimize the wood’s expansion and contraction. We can all drive our neighborhood and see the homes that have not done so and visualize the damage it can do.

These are just a couple of maintenance items you can perform yourself to save you money! If you have questions or tips you wish to share on how to save money, please contact me — Roxann: 618-604-5585.
